No Compromise
The Goldsmith Promise:
We will only ever use the best people, in the best factories, working with the best materials. Goldsmith glasses will never be anything less. Whether we work with the wonderful and charismatic Italians, the accurate and well buit Germans, the technologically advanced Japanese, or just simply making our frames right here at home, we will always ensure the quality in the product is unmistakeably there.
Who is Oliver Goldsmith?

Think 20th century icons. Grace Kelly. Peter Sellers. Michael Caine in his signature black spectacles. Audrey Hepburn in the big white glasses that framed her elfin face. Iconic style makers – Givenchy, Dior and Vidal Sassoon. Think cult films of the fifties & sixties. The Ipcress File, Harry Palmer, Charade and Two for the Road. They’ve all got one thing in common. Oliver Goldmsith. In the second half of last century, when it came to eyewear, OG was synonymous with stars and style.
Oliver Goldsmith has been a family-run business for over 80 years. Founded in 1926 by P.Oliver Goldsmith, the world of spectacles was about to be revolutionised. Sunglasses gained high profile status during the mid-fifties and a selection of unusual designs started to appear. OGs were becoming not only a means of protecting eyes from sun, but also a fashion statement. Dress designers approached Goldsmith to create frames that would complement their seasonal collections.
Claire Goldsmith makes some of the world’s most sophisticated and beautifully designed sunglasses and spectacles. She is the great grand daughter of Oliver Goldsmith, one of the most influential designers and creators of modern eyewear. In 2005 Claire re-introduced the world to an inspiring and innovative fashion story alongside some of the most iconic sunglasses from within the private family archive. But 2010 marked the start of something new. A new generation. A fresh outlook on design. Refinement of classics and innovative creations.
Where Are The Glasses Made?
The Goldsmith family has spent their lives searching for specialists, only working with the most skilled craftsmen. Some of those craftsmen are in England, having made frames their whole lives. They create all our bespoke and custom-sized frames. Some are in Italy – the country who literally created eyewear with flair and still have some of the most highly experienced and skilled craftemen in the world. Some of them are in Japan where technology in manufacturing leads the way. Others are in Germany where precision and excellence is standard.
